Bass & Flinders Distillery releases from the cellar in time for Christmas, a very limited quantity of their exceptional Mistelle. A fresh and delicious yet complex aperitif with subtle flavours of honey nectar and ripe Summer stone fruits.
Bass & Flinders Distillery has made their Mistelle with juice from a specially selected parcel of Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay grapes fortified with brandy and matured in French oak barrels. A variation on a traditional recipe.
With only 200 bottles available online and through the cellar door, Mistelle will have come and gone quicker than Christmas to those lucky enough to enjoy a hand-numbered bottle of this delightfully festive fortified!
A fresh and delicious yet complex light amber coloured fortified wine. Intense flavours of honey nectar, pink lady apple, orange blossom, with a hint of vanilla, as well as ripe summer stone fruits such as peach and nectarine. Rounded by beautiful notes of marmalade, a clean, crisp finish balances this fortified.
How to Drink
Mistelle is ideal for Summer entertaining and is the perfect thirst quencher in the warm weather. Serve neat over ice, with a quality tonic water or in a Summer cocktail such as the ‘Merry Mistelle’.
Merry Mistelle Recipe:
In a short glass, add ice, sprigs of fresh mint, 45ml Mistelle, 10ml simple sugar syrup and top-up with soda water. Stir mint through the drink and garnish with a whole strawberry. Christmas in a glass!
