Fifteen years ago, Bass & Flinders Distillery was born from a simple yet bold dream - to create exceptional grape-to-glass artisanal spirits that celebrate the unique character of the Mornington Peninsula.
From the very start, we believed in doing things differently. Rather than using neutral grain spirit, we focus on crafting our spirits from scratch using the finest Victorian grapes, a process we call our “Méthode Eau de Vie.” This commitment to quality—from the vineyard to the bottle—has been our guiding principle since day one. The heart of everything we do lies in our passion for quality and our connection to the land.
This milestone is more than just an anniversary - it’s a testament to our journey, our people, and the quality that defines Bass & Flinders. Here’s to the next chapter of exploration, innovation, and spirit. Cheers to 15 years!
We’ve built a menu that’s all about sharing, sipping and staying a little longer, food that feels just right.
Think Boat Shed cheeses with house-made fig paste and pickled vegetables, pumpkin & fetta arancini, tempura prawns with garlic aioli, and crispy beef sliders on buttery brioche.
Each dish is simple, local and full of flavour - designed to pair beautifully with our Bass & Flinders gins, whether you’re sipping a Cerise Spritz or tasting your way through a paddle.
Linger a little longer, savour fresh flavours, good company and the unmistakable ease of a long afternoon in the sunshine. BOOK NOW.
🎧 Check out this Drinks Adventures Podcast from James Atkinson talking with Holly Klintworth about her six-week immersive internship in Cognac, France supported by a Churchill Memorial Trust Fellowship.
Working alongside renowned cognac producers, from small family houses to leading distilleries, Holly deepened her understanding of traditional brandy craftsmanship, exploring production methods passed down through generations.
This experience continues to shape her vision for reigniting Australia’s appreciation for brandy, bringing a renewed depth, authenticity and artistry to Bass & Flinders’ own spirit portfolio.
Our distinctive new look continues to make its mark, taking out a Gold Medal at the Melbourne Design Awards for outstanding Three-Dimensional Graphic Design.
We partnered with The Edison Agency to help transform our brand’s identity and showcase to the world what makes our small-batched spirits so uniquely different. Inspired by traditional French distillation methods and the surrounding Mornington Peninsula hinterland – the design brings to life our innovative spirit and passion for creating artisan spirits.
The result is packaging that’s as refined and expressive as the spirits within.
